Is this a new problem to solve tha exponentially increases the effort on
the part of CoApp development, or would integration with swig or similar
solve the problem at a reduced cost.

It's been done often with mixed results, and reinventing this wheel is best
avoided, and at least not tying the success/failure of the core CoApp 1.0
to this metric.
