So for someone like me, who's having lots of trouble building packages from source with the VC++ compiler, will this eventually make it easier for me to get working .vcproj files?

That's a dump of the information that mkSpec is able to recreate from the VC compiler for one of the SDL binaries...

If things go well today, I should have the part that reconciles the command-line arguments for source files with the source files accessed by the compiler itself (in this example, there are 108 in each list, so ... that's a good thing!)

Then it's dump the files into the project (easy), reconcile against the scan data (from the Scan tool that Trevor wrote-pretty easy), and dump out the .spec file (well, that's done, it's just a bit empty yet).
