I'm "happy-enough" with the stuff I released yesterday as a beta working point.

I'm going to make a branch for beta1 ... if we need to do more work with the beta release binaries, we'll work there, but I'm going to make the big changes in the master branch starting today.

So, that being said, the master branch might be a tad unstable over the next few days.
