[Bug 423307] [NEW] [Karmic] High CPU usage after enable compiz

Public bug reported:

After upgrading from Jaunty to Karmic, the CPU usage becomes very high
when I try to enable compiz using the command: compiz --replace.

In the .xsession-erros, I see the following repeated error message:
Window manager warning: Screen 0 on display ":0.0" already has a window manager; try using the --replace option to replace the current window manager.

Using the htop command, the process: /usr/lib/libgconf-4/gconfd-2 taking
the most resources, when I run the strace on the process, the following
message is repeating:

12:33:58.641441 gettimeofday({1251909238, 641472}, NULL) = 0
12:33:58.641534 read(16, "GIOP\1\2\1\0\261\0\0\0", 12) = 12

BUT, if I create a new user, enable the compiz works fine, no high CPU
usage on the process.

** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu)
