[Bug 427800] [NEW] [GM965/GL960, karmic, regression] compiz crashes after resume from S3

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

Laptop: Dell Latitude D630.

compiz seems to crash after resuming from an S3 suspend.
This started somewhere between karmic alpha3 and 4 I think.

Symptoms have varied slightly as karmic development has progressed.

Earlier (before alpha5) the screen contents would be restored after
resume, but the screen would just hang. VT switch worked and sometimes
running metacity from the terminal would restore functionality in X.

Now (fully updated karmic), the screen gets restored, and all window
decorations disappear. Alt-F2 and running metacity --replace seems to
restore full functionality, after which compiz --replace can again be
run and have a functioning compiz. This is now fully reproducible every
time for me.

On a related note, when running compiz, the graphics will just hang
after minutes or hours of working normally. A VT switch is always
possible, but X graphics can not always be restored unless restarting
GDM. This is maybe related or maybe another bug.
