[Bug 441781] [NEW] [Karmic Beta] Enabling "Normal" visual effects fails on Centrino with "Desktop effects could not be enabled"

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

I am using an up-to-date Karmic Beta. On install the visual effects all
seemed to be working correctly. The video test in System Testing did not
work correctly, so I turned visual effects to none and they correctly
turned off (it didn't fix the video test, but I've reported that issue).
Trying to re-enable visual effects did not work, giving the above error.

$ compiz -replace
