Message #04074
[Bug 477635] [NEW] compiz causes all windows on all workspaces in workspace switcher to appear active
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: compiz
When I have desktop effects turned on, all windows in all workspaces in
the workspace switcher widget appear "active" (they are coloured in as
if they are the active window) which effectively makes it look like all
my workspaces that have windows on them are the active ones at the same
time. (Especially if I have maximized windows)
Other than that the workspace functionality works fine. This problem
goes away again as soon as I turn off desktop effects.
It has been around for several Ubuntu releases now and it is still a bug
in Karmic. Every time I try a new release I notice this, get annoyed
after a while and turn desktop effects back off again. It is not just
this one pc either - I get it on my work pc and on my notebook too. At
first I thought perhaps it is my gtk or window border themes, but
switching those don't help.
The correct behavior (what I expect to happen) is for only the active
window to be "coloured in" (brown in this case), but all the little
window icons in the workspace switcher applet appear brown which causes
all of my used workspaces to appear all brown, so I can't easily see
which workspace I'm on.
** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
