Surrender hope all ye who enter this thread. I don't think any updates
are coming. It is the end of the line for older intel graphics hardware.
My setup is Intel 82845G. There is still a freeze in Karmic, even if
Compiz is removed.

The silence tells me, "If you want to run the latest gnu/linux from now
on, upgrade your hardware or use older distributions".
