I can confirm that the fix mentioned by d.a. in #44 is working here on
Lucid i386, w/ GNOME 2.3.0 on the nVidia X server.

But on another note, since this is such a simple, simple, simple fix,
can anyone enlighten me on why no one has committed this yet?
