[Bug 604844] Re: X.org.0.logCrash +NoSound kubuStudio10.04.164amd

had a thunderbird error. not sure if it's solved or laying there waiting.
then back on 6-14-10 UbuStu 10.04Lucid 64amd upgrade xorg /etc/ went 2 graphics only

after upgrading 9.10 to 10.04 I built Ubuntu Studio losing sound.
toggled jack control following user Komputer & Trulan, tried a work
around, failed to do a preempt config and preempt realtime set up; then,
update manager prompted me today. amongst the files I found kernels
giving me the least change alternative recommended & said, "Ok, this
will upgrade my kernel & give me a minimal solution. Stepped away and
came back to a dark screen & option to configure; did not feel up to it
and ended up with the "$xorg crash report" that follows, which I don't
know how to read for time being. Anyone pls review & advise how to
proceed with my effort to smooth the kernel compatibilities and to get
sound operating. was able to submit a report on launchpad.net & found OS
boots up/performs in normal mode. Will take a bit to unravel the xorg
crash. This is a 2nd time to see a similar report but 1st to be able to
post it.

Xorg reports like that in Post 1 are kept at System> Administration> Log
File Viewer
