[Bug 680899] [NEW] some compiz commands/plugins don’t work, no idea how to debug
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: compiz
Hello! I upgraded to Natty, and some of the things I’ve had Compiz set-
up to do don’t seem to work anymore. I got some to work by fiddling with
the settings back and forth, but there are lots of things that don’t
seem to work. A few examples:
*) I’ve long had set F6 and F7 to toggle window horizontal/vertical
maximization. (In ccsm it’s General compiz options » Key bindings.) It
doesn’t work anymore. I can tell it to “grab key combination”, it
accepts when I type F6/7, doesn’t complain at all, but it doesn’t seem
to grab the key. In Firefox F7 does something with carret browsing, F6
gives focus to the address bar, and they work even when I tell Compiz to
grab those keys. I tried an unused combination (<start>+F7 and
<ctrl>+F7), and nothing happens when I press it. This used to work as
expected in Maverick.
*) I’ve set <start>+n/m to toggle the window/screen negative. Nothing
happens when I press those combinations. (When I do a “grab key” for all
things with the «start» (or «windows») button, it appears as <Super> in
CCSM.)
*) Expo is set to trigger on “<Super>e” or “<TopRightEdge>Button1”, and
nothing happens for either of those. (Actually, for “<Super>e” I get an
“e” while in the CCSM window, but not in FF for example. There’s a top
panel on my screen, but there are no widgets on its rightmost edge.)
*) I can’t seem to enable “Scale” anyway. I used to have it on thumb-
button on my mouse, and it was quite useful.
*) I can’t get “Alt-tab” to initiate any of the window pickers. Nor
«start»+tab either, for that matter.
I’ve no idea where to look next.
