[Bug 765679] [NEW] Screen goes black after gnome screen saver

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

Some time after gnome-screen-saver kicks in the screen goes black and
can not be brought back without killing compiz. Note the mouse cursor
does display correctly but the rest of the display does not come back.

Switching to a vt works, but switching back does not bring the display
back.

Using the vt to kill gnome-screen-saver results in access to the
desktop, the cursor changes in response to moving over window elements,
I can type etc, but the display remains black.

killing compiz results in the display coming back and working as
expected.
