Message #16174
[Bug 774424] [NEW] Grid: Bizzarre Keyboard PutLeft and PutRight behavior in Narhwal
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: compiz
Ubuntu 11.04
compiz 1:0.9.4+bzr20110415-0ubuntu2
Steps to reproduce:
Install Ubuntu 11.04.
Install Compiz Config manager.
In compiz config manager, bind "Put Left" to <Super>u , "Put Right" to <Super>i
Start mashing <Super>u and <Super>i
Expected Behavior:
Upon repeatedly pressing <Super>i (Put Right), I expect the window to toggle through 3 states: 50% width, 33% width, 66% width, at all times touching the right edge of the screen.
Upon repeatedly pressing <Super>u(Put Left), I expect the window to
toggle through 3 states: 50% width, 33% width, 66% width, at all times
touching the left edge of the screen.
Observed Behavior:
Upon repeatedly pressing <Super>i (Put Right), the window toggles between 5 states: 50% width touching right side, 33% width NOT touching right side with an arbitrary _margin_, 25% width NOT touching right side with an arbitrary _margin_, 75% width touching right side, 66% width touching right side.
Upon repeatedly pressing <Super>u (Put Left), the window toggles between
5 states: 50% width touching left side, ?% width NOT touching left side
with an arbitrary _cropping_, ?% width NOT touching the left side with
an arbitrary _cropping_, 75% width touching left side, 66% width
touching left side.
Intuition: I'm guessing there were bugs introduced into the previously
stable grid plugin in 10.04 and 10.10 in order to make the mouse
behavior default in Ubuntu 11.
