I'm hitting this bug too. It used to hook itself into both screens, but
now doesn't.

Pekka - it's possible to manually start compiz on the second screen by doing the following in a terminal:
DISPLAY=:0.1 compiz --replace &

Alternatively you can get metacity to take over both screens by doing:
metacity --replace

(note that metacity correctly picks up and manages both screens).
