[Bug 793893] [NEW] display not being updated after resume and screen unlock, until I restart compiz

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

Often (although not always) in natty when I resume from suspend and type
in my password at the (correctly-drawn) gnome-screensaver unlock screen,
I continue to see the unlock screen. My mouse cursor changes shape as I
move it around the screen, but nothing else happens. If I switch to a
different VC with Ctrl+Alt+F1 and switch back, I see the picture of my
virtual console framebuffer instead of the unlock screen -- but mouse
cursors changes shape according to what GUI controls are underneath it,
indicating that I'm looking at X.

The fix is to killall -9 compiz in the text console. Unity respawns a
new compiz process and I can continue to work normally after switching
back to the X virtual console.

I've integrated Intel 965 graphics, and I don't remember this ever
happening in Maverick.
