TEST CASE:
1. Plug an external monitor before logging in (otherwise you'll face bug 733346)
2. Login
3. Open the display configuration applet
  $ gnome-control-center display
4. Activate the second monitor

Result:
Everything becomes black, unity reappears but not the main viewport.
Windows (terminal, gnome-control-center, ...) are invisible
CPU goes to 100%
Then after a while the session quits.
