Public bug reported:

Under system load (something hammering the CPUs at 100%) the time taken
for the alt-tab switcher to popup is extreme - sometimes upwards of 10s.

Chris Coulson also reports this behaviour; for him it occurs when
something goes crazy and spams DBus.
