Included in upgrade was unity* to (4.2.0-0ubuntu4
screenshots show better than words

(Not that relevant but -  the opening of qt4 app windows seems to
accelerate performance degrading, note  I'm not using the default gtk+
gui for qt4 - the default gui when used with for example vlc destroys
the session immediately
