[Bug 817824] [NEW] compiz goes to 100% utilization and the screen no longer refreshes

Public bug reported:

I've been running natty since beta 1. Last week, approximately, compiz
started going to 100% utilization while switching workspaces with the
hotkeys. Sometimes I can go to VTT1 and kill compiz, other times it is
a hard lock and I have to power cycle.
