[Bug 876227] [NEW] Unity fails to load and will not reset

Public bug reported:

When unity tries to load, it shows only a small nautilus menu which only
allows me to navigate the file system. There is no launcher and the top
panel is gone. Sounds similar to bug 873599 but I am 32 bit and the
problem appears to be permanent. Using Ubuntu 11.10 upgrade, compiz-
core 1:0.9.6+bzr20110929-0ubuntu3 (I obtained this info from software
center logged in as a different user in 2D).

Computer is a Samsung Netbook N110.

The reset process stops here. I let is sit for 15 minutes and there was
no further progress. In Compiz I activated wobbly windows, then the
problem occurred.
