Thanks for making the changes. For the workspace switching focus issue
we should have a separate bug report, yes, as it's possible that it
isn't related to this problem. All of these problems deal with window
focus, so they may be related, but I'm not that familiar with
compiz/unity so I can't be positive. Also, on the subject of this bug, I
was unable to reproduce it on my laptop. I set my wireless password to
something incorrect so that it would ask me for the password after
attempting to connect at login, but that prompt had focus when it
appeared. It did take a few seconds after login for the prompt to
appear, however. I also realize I've been assuming that you're running
in the full Unity environment, and not in an ubuntu-2d session, is that
correct? Ubuntu-2d uses metacity as its window manager, which would be
responsible for focus issues in that case.
