[Bug 987596] [NEW] Compiz needs to be restarted for plugin shortcuts to be activated after bootup

Public bug reported:

Hi, this is a standing bug with compiz in 12.04. This has cropped up from time to time with other releases prior to the final launch, but has always been fixed by the release date. I use custom bindings set by moving my cursor to the top right & top left corners of the screen with both the expo and scale plugins for compiz. This is set via CompizConfigSettingsManager. WHile both these plugins are activated and work by default in 12.04, the screen bindings don't work properly on bootup. I need to manually run:
compiz --replace

When this command is run, and compiz is restarted, the screen bindings
work fine. Has anyone found a better work around? It's tedious to do
this on each bootup. Otherwise, very flash release. Cheers.
