I have discovered that the vast majority of bugs are related to Compiz
because it comes configurated for Unity. To solve this fix follow the
next steps:

1. Go to Compiz settings manager / General / General Options
2. Once there go to the last tab named Desktop size
3. In the horizontal virtual size select 4 / In vertical one select 1 / In desktop number select 1

Now close and try to switch desktops. The problem should be solved!
