I have to correct myself. This setting improves something, but it is
still buggy:

I start Thunderbird on desktop 1. Next I start Firefox on desktop 2.
Now, when I switch to dekstop 3, Firefox "automagically" moves to
desktop 1.

This way virtual desktops are unusable, because at some time all apps
are on desktop 1.
