Public bug reported:

After Upgrading from 12.04 to 12.10 if unity gui is not showing launher
and taskbar, but just an empty desktop this could be a conseguence of
some missing libraries: libjbig0:i386, libtiff54:i386.

This problem seems to arise with ATI graphic card.
