[Bug 1173143] [NEW] compiz hang while switching workspaces

Public bug reported:

I was switching workspaces using keyboard shortcuts when the display
hung. I could still see the mouse cursor moving around, and it seemed
to change pointer type to react to the kinds of windows on the
workspaces I tried to switch to after. I hit Ctrl+Alt+F1 to switch to a
VC, and then went back to X, and the display un-froze. Only now I have
frequent key input buffering problems.

As I type, it seems to only respond to events every second keypress. At
first I thought this was sluggishness in the display, but it seems to be
more related to the key inputs. The same also happens to mouse input (I
tried to select a sentence, and didn't see the inverse text attribute
for the selection until I let go).

This is frustrating enough that I'm going to have to restart X soon just
to clear it out.
