Title:
Openstack Compute Starter Guide - Diablo has Unclear Documentation
Status in OpenStack Book for Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
The following docs:
http://docs.openstack.org/diablo/openstack-compute/starter/content/Networking_Configuration-d1e591.html
http://docs.openstack.org/diablo/openstack-compute/starter/content/Nova_conf-d2s367.html
contain confusing information pertaining to ip assignment for the
network interfaces as well as nova. The documentation gives the
impression that the ips assigned in the docs are the ips that are
actually supposed to be assigned. When installing openstack on a VM,
this breaks the VMs ability to communicate with the outside world
because Nova Network assumes responsibility for NATing. Could you
please update the documentation to clarify that the ips listed are
placeholders and that the reader should replace the ips shown with
relevant ones?
Thanks!
Sean Carlisle
