[Bug 2111707] Re: No sound in Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS

would you be able to give more hardware information, specifically

1. specific NUC sku / version /etc
2. the specific audio chip

it's possible that it's being disabled due missing firmware blob in
24.04 or kernel module. if it's failing on a live-disk, you should still
be able to run apport (I believe)

Title:
No sound in Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
After installing Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS on my Intel NUC mini destop PC, no sound output was available anymore. Neither in any sound-producing apps nor in the soundtest in settings.
I must add that at the same time sound works perfectly on my HP notebook with the very same Ubuntu version installed.

With help from Chatgpt I tried multiple possible solutions and finally
found one that worked: I switched back to PulseAudio from
  PipeWire/WirePlumber.

I saved the Chatgpt chat for your information:

  Best regards
