Message #04442
[Bug 2111252] Re: E: Package 'libcanberra-gtk-module' has no installation candidate
That Canon software does not seem to be packaged in Ubuntu. As Simon
(simpoir) pointed out, this bug tracker is used to track problems in
Ubuntu.
Looks like the problematic printout:
Gtk-Message: 12:32:46.627: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
is affecting Firefox and Thunderbird, which are both distributed as
snaps. Other than printing that message, are affected programs actually
misbehaving, or is there missing functionality which you think is
related to missing canberra-gtk-module?

Title:
E: Package 'libcanberra-gtk-module' has no installation candidate
Status in libcanberra package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I get the following when I try to run some GUI programs on Ubuntu
25.04:
Gtk-Message: 12:32:46.627: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
So, I tried to install `libcanberra-gtk-module` (gtk-2.0) package.
However, I get:
Package libcanberra-gtk-module is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package 'libcanberra-gtk-module' has no installation candidate
Indeed, this package is not available in plucky.

module&searchon=names&suite=all§ion=all
Please note: libcanberra-gtk3-module package is already installed on
the system. But, this does not solve my initial problem.
