[Bug 2111252] Re: E: Package 'libcanberra-gtk-module' has no installation candidate
Do you mean that the following software do *not* count?
doublecmd (doublecmd-common/plucky,plucky,now 1.1.22-1build1 all [installed])
gmplayer (mplayer-gui/plucky,now 2:1.5+svn38674-1 amd64 [installed])
gtklp (gtklp/plucky,now 1.3.4-3build3 amd64 [installed,automatic])
searchmonkey (searchmonkey/plucky,now 0.8.3-1.2build1 amd64 [installed])
xsane 0.999 (xsane/plucky,now 0.999-12.2 amd64 [installed])
It is rather difficult to say what kind visual functionality is lost in
these programs though.

Title:
E: Package 'libcanberra-gtk-module' has no installation candidate
Status in libcanberra package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I get the following when I try to run some GUI programs on Ubuntu
25.04:
Gtk-Message: 12:32:46.627: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
So, I tried to install `libcanberra-gtk-module` (gtk-2.0) package.
However, I get:
Package libcanberra-gtk-module is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package 'libcanberra-gtk-module' has no installation candidate
Indeed, this package is not available in plucky.
https://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=libcanberra-gtk-
module&searchon=names&suite=all§ion=all
Please note: libcanberra-gtk3-module package is already installed on
the system. But, this does not solve my initial problem.
