[Bug 2120536] Re: Mesa 25.0.7 breaks Blender on integrated Intel graphics
there are hundreds of commits between 25.1.x and 25.2.0, so it's likely
not possible to just look at the list to see what fixed it, but would be
equally great to know what broke it
like, was it a stable commit in 25.0.x or something before
couldn't find any upstream bug reports mentioning blender and the intel
driver

Mesa 25.0.7 breaks Blender on integrated Intel graphics

Bug description:
Update to mesa 25.0.7 seems to have broke rendered mode of viewport in
Blender integrated Intel GPU (Intel(R) Graphics (MTL) Intel 4.6 (Core
Profile) Mesa 25.0.7-0ubuntu0.24.04.1), see, e.g.,
https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender/issues/144437 . It goes
away after installing Mesa 25.2.0.
Ways to reproduce:
1) Install latest Blender
2) Click somewhere outside of the welcoming popup so that it closes.
3) Click and hold "z" and select "Rendered" or "Material preview"
4) See how Blender hangs itself and the system
I am not sure if I am supposed to report this here so that you
consider updating to 25.2.0 eventually. If not then sorry for
bothering.
