[Bug 2121095] Re: Laptop (HP Victus 15) fails to resume from suspend mode with flashing lock screen

It sounds like gnome-shell is crashing and being restarted, which can
only happen in Xorg sessions. Also XorgLogOld.txt shows Xorg itself
crashed at one point. To help us find the cause of the crashes please
follow these steps:

1. Run these commands:
    journalctl -b0 > journal.txt
    journalctl -b-1 > prevjournal.txt
and attach the resulting text files here.

2. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run:
    ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash
Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug.

3. If step 2 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where
ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine.
Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please
send the links to us.

Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are
unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security
risk for yourself.

Title:
Laptop (HP Victus 15) fails to resume from suspend mode with flashing
  lock screen

Status in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I've installed Ubuntu 24.04.03 LTS on my laptop (HP Victus 15),
  alongside with Windows 11.

  ## The issue
Every time I close the lid after using the laptop, it enters into Suspend mode (Sleep mode). And when I open it again, the lock screen appears, disappaers, and reappears again around 20 seconds later, repeatedly, making impossible to enter the password or interact with the laptop. The system is unusable until I reboot the system.

  ## Troubleshooting
I made sure everything is up-to-date. Then I tried reinstalling NVIDIA drivers (575.64.03), disabling Wayland in GDM, and using lightdm as display manager. None of those worked.
According to this article (https://help.ubuntu.com/stable/ubuntu-help/power-suspendfail.html.fr), it is an incompatiblity problem.
