[Bug 1713999] Re: mbim-proxy uses 100% cpu with Sierra EM7345 LTE modem, unable to connect

Hi sziraki.tamas,

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that bug was reported. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running only once:
apport-collect 1713999

and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

As a side-note, the linked issues should have been long released (kernel
4.13 is old by now)

Title:
mbim-proxy uses 100% cpu with Sierra EM7345 LTE modem, unable to
  connect

Status in libmbim package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  I have a Sierra EM7345 LTE modem in a Lenovo T450s.

On boot mbim-proxy is using 100% cpu and the modem will not move to
  the connected state.

I have to kill the mbim-proxy process to stop it using CPU, and I
can't get the modem to connect at all.

  These bugs are probably related:

  https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100938

  https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101275

The problem also occurs with Ubuntu 17.04 run from a live USB stick.

I've used this exact hardware with several previous installs of Ubuntu
  and never had this problem.
