[Bug 828049] [NEW] Firefox crashes on systems with nvidia optimus
Public bug reported:
Firefox crashes on systems with nvidia optimus that have Bumblebee
(https://github.com/Bumblebee-Project/Bumblebee) installed. This is down
to Hardware Acceleration being enabled by default. Firefox tries to load
the nvidia module but this fails and the system crashes.
It is fixed by disabling Hardware Acceleration trough the settings (Edit
-> Preferences -> Advanced -> General -> Use hardware acceleration when
available)
(x)ubuntu version: 11.04
Firefox version: 6.0+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.11.04.1
I will enable hardware rendering again and restart firefox so I can
paste the output on the CLI
** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
