Title:
Ubuntu Firefox Modifications addon persistently disables
  middlemouse.contentLoadURL

Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Firefox has an optional feature whereby the URL in the clipboard will
be loaded on middle-click. Although I accept the reasoning behind
this being turned off by default (bug 353318), I prefer it turned on.
It used to be the case that one could turn it on by visiting
about:config and setting middlemouse.contentLoadURL to true. However,
the "Ubuntu Firefox Modifications" addon which is installed in Firefox
by default disables this setting persistently (at least on restart,
probably more often than that). I can only enable this feature
permanently if I remove or disable the Ubuntu Firefox Modifications
  addon.

This behaviour happens in at least Ubuntu 11.04, in Firefox 5 and 6.
  It may have been ongoing for longer;
  https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=660447 suggests that this
has been happening since Ubuntu 10.10 and/or Firefox 4.

Could this addon please not interfere with this setting if it has been
  changed by the user?
