[Bug 829562] [NEW] Ubuntu Firefox Modifications addon persistently disables middlemouse.contentLoadURL

Public bug reported:

Firefox has an optional feature whereby the URL in the clipboard will be
loaded on middle-click. Although I accept the reasoning behind this
being turned off by default (bug 353318), I prefer it turned on. It
used to be the case that one could turn it on by visiting about:config
and setting middlemouse.contentLoadURL to true. However, the "Ubuntu
Firefox Modifications" addon which is installed in Firefox by default
disables this setting persistently (at least on restart, probably more
often than that). I can only enable this feature permanently if I
remove or disable the Ubuntu Firefox Modifications addon.

This behaviour happens in at least Ubuntu 11.04, in Firefox 5 and 6. It
may have been ongoing for longer;
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=660447 suggests that this
has been happening since Ubuntu 10.10 and/or Firefox 4.

Could this addon please not interfere with this setting if it has been
changed by the user?

** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
