[Bug 830508] [NEW] s-c shows duplicate packages (i386 multiarch on amd64 install)

Public bug reported:

Since multiarch has been enabled on amd64 installs , the apt cache now
shows nearly twice as many packages. This causes apt-xapian-index to
index nearly twice as many packages (ie the 100% processor usage takes
significantly longer than normal). As a consequence s-c shows a
duplicate i386 version of the vast majority of packages. I'm unsure how
deep down the stack we should fix this.

** Affects: software-center (Ubuntu)

         Status: New

** Changed in: software-center (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided => High
