Title:
Switching users freezes workstation temporarily
Status in “gdm” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gdm
When using the switch users functionality, the computer is frozen for
a time after entering the password for the user. In my case, we
always have two users logged into the system and switch between them.
The longer the system is up, the longer the terminal will freeze.
While frozen the screen is black except for a non-responsive mouse
cursor. Keyboard input is apparently ignored, including Ctrl-Alt-Fx,
where x is a number, Ctrl-Alt-Del and Ctrl-Alt-Bksp.
