Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gdm

Bug is similar to 29064, with the exception of the "wrong password" notification. I get the desktop beginning to load (I have a personalised background) then the screen blanks and display is garbled, then I am returned to the logon screen. This is repeated until the third attempt. I use the same standard logon screen, select user by mouse, then type password and hit 'return'. No difference experienced when using mouse to select 'log on'.
I have multiple user accounts set up. I have not yet attempted to log on to these accounts to see if the problem exists there also, but will do so.
  Using 'Lucid'.
