[Bug 832258] [NEW] Pages with unresponsive scripts cause extremely long hangs

Public bug reported:

This bug makes firefox practically unusable for me. It seems I run into
a lot of pages with "unresponsive scripts" (I guess that's what it is).
They make firefox hang for a long time before it continues. If a menu
is up, the hanging causes the entire system to be unusable. To see the
bug go to the following page (for example) and in the C++ Documentation
section click on the "C++ Language Tutorial" link.:

http://www.cplusplus.com/

For me the tutorial page hangs every time I go to it. It happens for
pages on github.com, for example and quite a few other pages in my
presently saved session.
