Message #05452
[Bug 834965] [NEW] Power management does not detect battery
Public bug reported:
Although this bug seems similar to Bug #428500 the difference lies in
how the battery is seen by the power management utility.
In my HP NC6000, the battery is seen as AC line or plugged in and when I
unplug it, the laptop immediately shuts off despite the real ac line
being plugged in.
When I try to run hal-find-by-capability command, it says command not
found.
acpi -V shows
"No support for device type: power_supply
No support for device type: power_supply
No support for device type: thermal
No support for device type: thermal"
1.) I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 - the Natty Narwhal
2.) version of gnome-power-manager: whatever was released with 11.04 with latest updates run as of yesterday night
3.) I expect power-manager to at least know that I have a battery plugged in instead of treating my laptop as a desktop.
4.) See above
