  External monitor resolution is not detected by gnome-display-
  properties

Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

  I have Ubunto 10.10 on ThinkPad X301 laptop and an external monitor
  Hannspree HF257. If I connect it via VGA, then the highest resolution
  I see in gnome-display-properties is 1360x768 whereas under 10.04 I
  could use the correct resolution 1920x1080.
