  Blank or white space appears when changing keyboard layouts

  Binary package hint: gnome-panel

  Hi,

  I am running Ubuntu 10.10 x64, and my gnome-panel becomes glitched
  when I switch keyboard layouts to a layout whose name is shorter than
  the previous one (well, I believe so)...

  First attached file is a screenshot of my panel when I am using the
  USA layout, no glitch.

  Second attached file is the same panel after switching layout to Can
  layout, using the keyboard shortcut. Nothing else. Didn't touch the
  panel in any other way.
