Title:
  Changing themes overwrites backgrounds.xml

Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

When user changes theme in the Gnome-appearance application, the
.gnome2/backgrounds.xml file gets overwritten with an empty blank
file, preventing the user from quickly switching to pre-defined
  favorite desktop backgrounds.

  Expected behaviour:

Changing the theme should not affect backgrounds.xml
