Message #101866
[Bug 1423831] [NEW] An amazon icon is in the default Unity Launcher
Public bug reported:
When installing Ubuntu 14.04.1 , the default Unity launcher contains an
icon 'amazon' that links to a commercial website that sells products (
and does not pay his tax but that's another story)
This default icon leads users to think that the Ubuntu project/community
is a trying to take people to buy goods from a specific retailer which
is really against the initial goal of the ubuntu project.
How to reproduce :
- Install Ubuntu using the default ubuntu CD 14.04.1
- boot with the new user created
- Observe that an amazon icon is present in the launcher.
How to fix :
- Remove this amazon icon in the default list of icon of the launcher.
** Affects: webapps-applications (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
** Tags: amazon
