In my case, I have install nvidia-340, but nvidia 331 keeping intefering.
Does anyone know how to remove only 331?
Anyone found another solution?

after that...
$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure nvidia-331-uvm
(some users may be on the versions of these packages suffixed with
-updates )
