  Language input (amharic) keyboard layout not correct. English letters
  still present. Will attach screen shot to Case # 11240. SCIM or Imap
  worked on 9.04 but don't work anymore (10.04)

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: firefox

  Tried to apply alternate language input method (Amharic/Ethiopian). System/Prefernces/Keyboard -layout-add...
  However when you start typing you cannot input correct characters (some English characters a, o, still persist).
  The Keyboard map for country=ethiopia confirms this finding. I.e. cannot be used to enter Amharic.

  E.g. aደiሰ aበeበao

  SCIM worked well in 9.04 but is not working for me now (Lucid 10.04).

  Ethiopic/Amharic
  Amharic and other languages of Ethiopia are written in a syllabary with too many symbols to fit on a simple keyboard. However, it can be typed in an IME. One types a base syllable, then a vowel, to get the syllable with the consonant from the base syllable plus the specified vowel. 
  This is the basic keyboard layout.
