[Bug 1447919] [NEW] Intel DRM GPU hang in Kubuntu 15.04
Public bug reported:
Intel driver hangs every time KDE uses one of the special system
effects. I can reliably reproduce it by pressing "Alt-Tab", for example.
The only fix is to reboot the computer.
Kernel version:
$ uname -a
Linux darkstar 3.19.0-15-generic #15-Ubuntu SMP Thu Apr 16 23:32:37 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
-- Logcat output --
[ 47.675521] [drm] stuck on render ring
[ 47.676178] [drm] GPU HANG: ecode 7:0:0x00000000, in kwin_x11 [1519], reason: Ring hung, action: reset
[ 47.676180] [drm] GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in the entire gfx stack, including userspace.
[ 47.676180] [drm] Please file a _new_ bug report on bugs.freedesktop.org against DRI -> DRM/Intel
[ 47.676181] [drm] drm/i915 developers can then reassign to the right component if it's not a kernel issue.
[ 47.676182] [drm] The gpu crash dump is required to analyze gpu hangs, so please always attach it.
[ 47.676183] [drm] GPU crash dump saved to /sys/class/drm/card0/error
[ 47.683468] drm/i915: Resetting chip after gpu hang
