  movie skips randomly and automatically

Bug description:
  I have Ubuntu 10.10. When playing a DVD, the movie skips forward and
  backward at random intervals. It will not play a single chapter for
  more than a couple minutes before skipping again. Sometimes the movie
  will resume in the middle of a chapter as well. I only just got the
  Movie Player to start working yesterday before this happened today.
