  Xchat closes when I join a channel

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xchat

  1. Start xchat from an icon on the desktop. (short cut references xchat-gnome)
  2. Enter j ubuntu-ie in the text field at bottom of the screen 
  3. xchat closes

  Here are three lines from messages file from three recent crashes.
